Exhaustive Revelation

Quran

"Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

Surah Al-Baqarah · 2:286

This supplication is recited by parents for relief of their children's burdens including illness, as children lack capacity to bear extended suffering and fever represents a test beyond their limited endurance.

"And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, 'Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.' So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers."

Surah Al-Anbiya · 21:83-84

This supplication of Prophet Ayyub is particularly invoked when children suffer from fever and distress, seeking divine removal of harm as He removed Ayyub's prolonged afflictions.

Sahih Hadith

"When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to a sick person or a sick person was brought to him, he would say: 'Remove the hardship, Lord of mankind, and heal, You are the Healer. There is no healing but Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.'"

Sahih al-Bukhari · 5723SahihNarrator: Aisha

This supplication was specifically used by the Prophet when children or adults were brought to him in states of illness including fever, establishing the spiritual component of pediatric care.

"The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Fever is from the heat of Hellfire, so cool it down with water.'"

Sahih Muslim · 2191SahihNarrator: Ibn Abbas

This hadith provides the primary prophetic therapeutic directive for managing fever in children and adults through water-based cooling methods, establishing physical treatment protocol.

"The Prophet (peace be upon him) would recite ruqyah for some of them, wiping with his right hand: 'Remove the hardship, Lord of mankind. In Your Hand is the cure. There is none who can remove it but You.'"

Sahih al-Bukhari · 5724SahihNarrator: Aisha

This hadith demonstrates the prophetic practice of physical touch combined with supplication when treating the sick, particularly relevant for comforting feverish children through parental touch and prayer.

Ibn Sīnā · Al-Qānūn fī al-Ṭibb

Ibn Sina, Al-Qanun fi al-Tibb, Book 4, Fann 1, Chapters on Fevers (Al-Hummayat) - Ibn Sina dedicates extensive discussion to pediatric fevers, emphasizing that children's fevers burn hotter and resolve faster than adults due to their moist temperament; he recommends gentle cooling measures, light foods like barley water, and avoiding aggressive purgatives that weaken the child's constitution.

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah · Al-Ṭibb an-Nabawī

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, At-Tibb an-Nabawi, Chapter on Treatment of Fever (Fi Mu'alajat al-Humma) - Ibn al-Qayyim cites the prophetic directive to cool fever with water and explains the spiritual and physical dimensions of fever as expiation of sins while requiring active treatment; he emphasizes parental supplication alongside physical cooling methods for children.
