Exhaustive Revelation

Quran

"O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity."

Surah Al-Hajj · 22:5

This verse explicitly describes the divinely ordained stages of human growth from infancy (tifl) to full maturity (ashudd), providing theological context for understanding normal developmental milestones.

"It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elderly."

Surah Ghafir · 40:67

This verse traces the complete life cycle including the childhood phase and attainment of physical maturity (ashudd), relevant to understanding delayed growth as deviation from the natural progression ordained by Allah.

Sahih Hadith

"The Prophet said, 'No child is born except on the fitrah (natural disposition), and then his parents make him Jewish, Christian or Magian, just as an animal is born intact. Do you observe any among them that are born mutilated?'"

Sahih al-Bukhari · 5678SahihNarrator: Abu Huraira

This hadith establishes the principle that children are born with sound physical constitution (jamā'a - intact/complete), providing theological foundation that normal growth is the natural state and deviations require investigation and treatment.

"The Messenger of Allah was the best of people in character. I had a younger brother called Abu 'Umayr - I think he had been weaned - and when he (the Prophet) came he would say, 'O Abu 'Umayr, what did the little bird do?'"

Sahih Muslim · 2286SahihNarrator: Anas ibn Malik

This hadith references the weaning stage (fatim) as a recognized developmental milestone in childhood, indicating prophetic awareness of age-appropriate growth phases that physicians should monitor.

"Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and discipline them for it when they are ten, and separate their beds."

Sunan Abi Dawud · 495SahihNarrator: Amr ibn Shu'ayb from his father from his grandfather

This hadith establishes age-specific developmental expectations at seven and ten years, providing benchmarks for cognitive and physical maturity that help identify growth delays when children cannot meet these milestones.
