Emphasizes consuming only pure and lawful foods, directly relevant to colitis management where dietary triggers and food purity are critical to preventing inflammatory flares.
"O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing."
Surah Al-Mu'minun · 23:51
Divine command to consume wholesome foods (tayyibat) specifically addresses the colitis patient's need to select gentle, non-irritating foods that do not aggravate intestinal inflammation.
Sahih Hadith
"She said: The Messenger of Allah asked me: 'What do you use as a laxative?' I said: 'Shubrum.' He said: 'It is hot, hot (harsh).' Then I used senna, and the Prophet said: 'If there was anything that could cure death, it would be in senna.'"
Sunan Ibn Majah · 3457HasanNarrator: Asma bint Umais
The Prophet specifically discouraged harsh purgatives and approved senna for intestinal conditions, directly applicable to colitis where gentle intestinal regulation is needed without aggravating inflammation.
"When anyone complained of a pain in his head or belly, the Prophet would say: 'Apply cupping (hijama).'"
Sunan Abi Dawud · 3855SahihNarrator: Umm Salamah
The Prophet prescribed hijama specifically for abdominal pain, which is a cardinal symptom of colitis, indicating this therapy for intestinal inflammatory conditions.
