Exhaustive Revelation

Quran

"Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear"

Surah Al-Baqarah · 2:286

This verse provides spiritual comfort for chronic musculoskeletal conditions like osteoarthritis where the patient must adapt movements and activities within their physical capacity

"For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts"

Surah Al-Hajj · 22:46

Classical scholars applied this to understanding that physical limitations of joints should not limit spiritual progress or worship modifications during prostration and standing

Sahih Hadith

"For every disease there is a cure, and when the proper cure for a disease is applied, it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted"

Sahih Muslim · 2203SahihNarrator: Jabir ibn Abdullah

This hadith establishes the Islamic principle of seeking appropriate treatment for chronic joint diseases rather than passive acceptance of pain

"Allah has not sent down a disease except that He has sent down a cure for it; those who know it, know it, and those who do not know it, do not know it"

Sunan Abi Dawud · 3855HasanNarrator: Umm Salamah

This hadith encourages seeking specialized knowledge for degenerative joint conditions from those trained in the healing arts

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, At-Tibb an-Nabawi, Chapter on Joint and Limb Pain (Awja' al-A'da' wal-Mafasil) - discusses warming topical applications, cupping therapy on surrounding muscles, dietary modifications avoiding cold-natured foods, and spiritual patience for chronic conditions affecting mobility in worship.
