"O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy."
Surah Al-Baqarah · 2:168
Classical scholars interpreted tayyib (good/pure) to include food free from contamination and parasites, establishing the principle that wholesome, clean food prevents intestinal corruption.
"Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah"
Surah Al-Ma'idah · 5:3
The prohibition of carrion and swine flesh directly prevents transmission of trichinosis and other parasitic infections common in undercooked or contaminated meat.
"Use senna (sanā) and sanūt, for indeed in them is a cure for every disease except death."
Sunan Ibn Majah · 3461HasanNarrator: Asma bint Umais
Senna was specifically used in classical Islamic medicine as a purgative to expel intestinal worms and cleanse the digestive tract of parasitic infestations.
الذَّبْحُ فِي الْحَلْقِ وَاللَّبَّةِ
"Slaughtering should be done in the throat and the upper part of the chest."
Sahih Muslim · 2051SahihNarrator: Abu Hurairah
Proper Islamic slaughter ensures complete blood drainage, removing a major vehicle for parasitic larvae and reducing helminthic transmission from contaminated meat.

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah · Al-Ṭibb an-Nabawī
Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, At-Tibb an-Nabawi, Chapter on Senna (al-Sanā) and Sanūt — Ibn al-Qayyim emphasized senna as the primary Prophetic remedy for intestinal purging and worm expulsion, noting its ability to evacuate harmful matter without weakening the body's natural heat when properly prepared.
