"Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear."
Surah Al-Baqarah · 2:286
This verse is invoked in classical Tibb for patients with chronic musculoskeletal burdens that limit standing and walking capacity, specifically addressing the burden (iṣr) of weight-bearing pain that plantar fasciitis imposes on the feet.
"It is He who made the earth tame for you - so walk among its slopes and eat of His provision - and to Him is the resurrection."
Surah Al-Mulk · 67:15
Classical scholars reference this verse when discussing disorders that impede walking (al-mashi), as plantar fasciitis directly impairs the Divine gift of mobility upon the earth's surface.
"There is a remedy for every malady, and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious."
Sahih Muslim · 2204SahihNarrator: Jabir ibn Abdullah
This hadith establishes the principle that inflammation of the plantar fascia has a specific cure, encouraging the pursuit of targeted treatment modalities in classical Tibb.
"Allah has not sent down any disease without sending down its cure; those who know it, know it, and those who are ignorant of it, are ignorant."
Sunan Abi Dawud · 3874HasanNarrator: Umm Salama
Classical physicians apply this to chronic musculoskeletal conditions like plantar fasciitis where knowledge of appropriate remedies (massage with warming oils, rest, and specific herbs) separates successful from failed treatment.
