"He who created me, and He guides me; and He who feeds me and gives me drink; and when I am ill, it is He who cures me."

Ibn Sīnā · Al-Qānūn fī al-Ṭibb

Ibn Sina, Al-Qanun fi al-Tibb, Book 3, Fann 3, Chapter on Diseases of the Joints (Amrad al-Mafasil) and section on shoulder pain (Waja' al-Katif) - recommends identifying whether pain is from cold or hot temperament, treating cold-natured shoulder pain with warming oils and massage, and hot-natured pain with cooling applications and phlebotomy from the basilic vein.

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah · Al-Ṭibb an-Nabawī

Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, At-Tibb an-Nabawi, Chapter on Cupping (Al-Hijamah) - describes cupping between the shoulder blades and on the shoulder joint itself for removing harmful humors causing pain and stiffness in the shoulder region, particularly for chronic conditions.

Olive oil massage

Preparation: Warm pure olive oil applied externally through gentle massage to the shoulder joint and surrounding muscles, moving in circular motions

Duration: Apply twice daily until pain subsides, particularly before sleep
